Diego Ferreño

Diego Ferreño is a Road, Channel and Port Engineer from UC (1999), Master in Numerical Methods applied to Engineering by UPC (2004), Doctor from UC (2008) and Bachelor of Physical Sciences from UC (2011) . As a researcher he has participated in numerous competitive projects at regional, national and European level.


In 2009 he won the Research Award of the Social Council of the UC in the Engineering Area.

He is currently Professor of the UC, Deputy Director of International Relations and Coordinator of Exchange Programs of the ETS of Civil Engineers, Channels and Ports.

LINES OF INVESTIGATION

  • Structural integrity of components; Application of design codes.
  • Processes of embrittlement by neutron irradiation in nuclear vessels.
  • Numerical simulation by Finite Elements of mechanical, thermomechanical processes, fracture, crack propagation, etc.
  • Mechanical behavior and resistance to breakage of biological materials.
