Abstract:


System for tensile and compressive fatigue load testing on railway track fastening elements within the same loading cycle, comprising: – a rail section with an opening along the longitudinal axis of its head, which in turn features a cut-out portion; – sleepers and fastening elements characteristic of a railway track; – a cylindrical bar positioned through the head opening, of such a length that the ends of the cylindrical bar are located outside the opening, and such that part of the cylindrical bar is visible due to the cut-out portion; – a yoke comprising an orifice, such that the cylindrical bar is positioned through said orifice: the system being configured to be coupled to a testing machine by means of an applicator, thus allowing the application of tensile and compressive forces with different degrees of inclination on the cylindrical bar, and therefore, on the rail, the sleepers, and the railway track fastening elements.
