Abstract:

 Grip adapter for a tensile-compression testing machine, each grip comprising a first major fastening face, a second opposite major face, a third major face and respective side faces; the adapter comprises two prismatic plates, each attachable to each grip and comprising a fourth major face facing the third, a fifth opposite major face, a first minor face on the side of the first major face, a second opposite minor face and respective side faces; each plate includes in its fifth major face a semi-cylindrical recess from the first to the second minor face and whose longitudinal axis is aligned or parallel to the movement of the grips, so that two plates with their fifth major faces facing each other form a cylindrical housing for a constant section cylindrical specimen, avoiding breakage in the gripping area of the specimen.
