Abstract:
Device for conducting a miniature punch test, with load alignment and friction minimization, allowing for the mechanical characterization of a specimen submerged in a liquid, comprising: a testing device which in turn comprises: the specimen to be tested placed between a clamping die and a support die; a hemispherical-head punch; the clamping die featuring an opening configured to serve as a guide for the punch; the support die featuring an opening configured to allow for the deformation of the specimen; and at least one tightening element; a force transmission system comprising two sections configured to transfer the force generated by the testing machine to each of the two ends of the testing device; a container configured to house a liquid in which the specimen is fully submerged, comprising two openings on two of its opposite sides configured to position, during the test, the testing device assembly and the force transmission system along the axis between the two openings; a support configured to sustain the testing device, the force transmission system, and the container.
