Álvaro Fernández

Álvaro Fernández Fernández holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cantabria (2017) and a Master’s degree in Integrity and Durability of Materials, Components, and Structures from the University of Cantabria, the University of Oviedo, and the University of Burgos (2020).

Since 2019, he has worked as a Laboratory Technician at the Leonardo Torres Quevedo Foundation, where he is involved in experimental materials characterization, equipment maintenance, and instrumentation of testing setups.

Between 2016 and 2019, he worked as a Mechanical Engineer at INESCO Ingenieros, specializing in destructive and non-destructive mechanical testing, CAD design of specimens and laboratory tooling, finite element analysis (FEA), and the application of European and American technical standards.

He began his career as a research intern at BSH Electrodomésticos España – University of Cantabria (2014–2016), where he collaborated in the analysis of the stamping and enameling system for steel sheets used in the manufacturing of gas stoves.

He participated in the 6th International Small Sample Test Techniques Conference held in Santander in 2023.
